Post Surgical Care for Dogs & cats

  1. Anesthesia and sedation cause incoordination for  animals after surgery.Therefore your pet is in sleepy situation about 24 hours and sometimes it walks like drunkens.
  2. Keep your pet in restricted,clean and calm area after going home.
  3. Feed your pet with a small part of wet food one or two hour after going home and gradually switch to its routine food in next 24 hours.
  4. Keep surgery site clean and dry.To prevent from licking that area Elizabethan collar can be usefull.For Eye surgery using that is mandatory.
  5. For cats at least for 7 days after surgery using Yesterday News Paper Litter can prevent from infection.
  6. If any abnormality in the suture site like redness or secretion, call to the clinic.
  7. Exercise should be restricted for 14 days. Using leash for walking, poo and pee is necessary to prevent from jumping.
  8. No bath for 14 days.
  9. Pain medication is necessary after surgery, therefore follow its procedure.
